Abstract

Before 100 years, an electrochemical wastewater treatment was founded, known as Electrodialysis. Number of great researchers and companies have advanced the Electrodialysis process and performance for wastewater treatment. However, it isnt preferred to be scaled up and used into industrial wastewater treatments due to number of failures. Although, researchers have not given up and studied the electrodialysis from different sides. Some scholars discussed mathematical approaches to determine the exact performance of an Electrodialysis. While others have investigated the efficiency of Ion Exchange Membranes inside the electrodialysis stack. Such studies have resulted in possible wide applications of the electrodialysis. Moreover, we tend to bring the electrodialysis to treat variety of wastewater because it has a great ability to remove and recover ionic and non-ionic components. Therefore, this book summarized most of the latest studies and findings regarding the electrodialysis desalination. This book sends a message to wastewater researchers that the Electrodialysis can lead the global desalination in the near future because of its high capability to recover pollutants, resulting in an environment friendly desalination.
