Abstract
The subject of Engineering Mechanics forms the backbone of Mechanical Engineering, and is also a major part of other engineering disciplines. The word Mechanics implies a study of the physical world, and hence the subject represents mans perception and understanding of the physical world around us. These perception and understanding are based largely on the observations and deductions encapsulated in Newtons Laws of Motion.
